Floating Stairs and Light

Each morning, for a period of time, the sun which streams through the massive property line window aligns with the floating stair and the (new) wall to create an effect of floating shafts of light as seen here.  The second photo features the floating stairs which created the floating light, allowing a glimpse of the newly installed insulation in the wall beyond.

The past several weeks have seen several miles of cables, pipes, conduits and tubes threaded through walls, ceilings and chases. The attention to detail and pride of workmanship has been intense. Here’s a couple of examples.

Framing

Following the early November completion of the API panel installation, efforts centered around framing, rough plumbing and wiring. For temporary waterproofing during the early winter rains, builders Malpas & Birmingham strategically attached blue tarps along the exterior. These created an other-worldly space-blue glow in some parts of the building. Here’s a couple shots showcasing the on-going framing and a few of the professionals doing the work.

The day after Labor Day, Whiteside Construction returned to finish pouring the lower two pan decks. They once again showcased world-class teamwork and craftsmanship. Have a look. Architect Michelle Kriebel snapped the “after” picture this week.
