Appreciation

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Sunrise, New Year’s Eve 2007. The waning night’s cold air glazes frost on the roof deck furniture. We have much for which to be appreciative. We’re moved in. Most of the boxes have been emptied. The punch list is under five pages. People living on Sheridan St. have (largely) set the annoyance of construction behind them and put on the bright face of neighborliness. What a long strange trip it’s been. Happy New Year everyone!

Scaffolding Off

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

The last act on the scaffolding was washing the windows.  Wow, what a difference a day makes.  Check out these first peeks at what views look like from the office and master bedroom.

A mix of exterior, interior and views observed during our brief visit today. The brace frame shot is from the studio mezzanine; taken hand held at about one second exposure!

Okay, the first one isn’t exactly about the view, more it’s the view of us. Nice to put things in perspective. The second one shows our view of Mt. Sutro from the roof.  The remainder hopefully speak for themselves.

Buttoning Up

Malpas & Birmingham have been busily installing windows and sealing exterior areas in advance of stucco work. We stopped by the site last week and snapped these shots of their progress and our view of the in-progress One Rincon Hill development.

Party on the Roof! 2

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

We were admiring Whiteside Construction’s freshly poured roof deck last weekend and started snapping pictures of the horizon. To our delight they assembled quite nicely together. The image which loads [upon clicking the thumbnail below] is quite large and may stall your browser momentarily during transfer, especially if your connection is a bit spotty. But do have a look and enjoy identifying some of your favorite landmarks.  On some browsers, after it loads, if you click on the big image, it will further expand and you can use the scroll handles to navigate around the image.

Party on the Roof!

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

A few weeks back we were at the site testing out some lighting options for the stair tower. At night, of course. I tromped up the still in-progress fire escape–reminescent of a six year-old’s grin with the odd missing stair here and there–to check out the night roof view. Have a look. Martinis anyone? :)
