Our dear friends Colin and Suzanne from Hawaii visited us today. Since the building remains without power, this shot of our visitors standing in the master bedroom hallway showcases the incredible natural light afforded by Lundberg’s design.

Monday, February 26th, 2007Capricorn Coffees, a pioneer in fair trade and organic coffees, roasts their beans most mornings, blanketing Sheridan Street with a rich dark roast aroma which contractor Kevin Birmingham swears can give you a caffeine buzz just by breathing deeply. Here’s some pallets from this morning’s roast.

Love Thy Neighbor
Friday, July 14th, 2006Out of respect for their privacy, we’ve generally kept mum on this site about neighbors living near 55 Sheridan. Today one of those kind neighbors snapped us out of that fantasy. In contrast to all the recognition we’ve rightly given to designers, contractors and workers, the absence of that for our neighbors risks telegraphing an unfortunate and certainly unintended message.
So, under the heading of “it’s okay to be wrong; not okay to stay wrong” today we would like to publicly acknowledge and express our appreciation for our neighbors, especially those at home during the day for the incredible patience and understanding they’ve shown during this early and at times intensely disruptive part of the project. Our hat is off to you all. We know it’s not easy. And while we’ve tried to photograph and share some of the beauty we see in the work in progress, we recognize that the noise isn’t pretty.
One of our immediately adjacent neighbors just gave birth to a new baby this week and so their understanding and support during this period is humbling and just beyond words. In fact, that family has lived patiently through not only our project, but the construction of 52, 56 and 62 Sheridan among others as well. Thank you for your patience.
You Ask, Curbed SF Tells.
Wednesday, June 14th, 2006A friend of a friend of our contractor Bill Malpas noticed a picture on Curbed San Francisco that looked astonishingly like one of Bill’s projects with vectors to match. That article + link eventually made it to me along with a vague WTF. Seems some locals were wondering what we were up to in the bears’ backyard. A quick note to the editor of Curbed SF and question answered. Many thanks and a tip of the hat to editor Philip Ferrato for the kind words and coverage.
